In 2020, the Alee Shriners brought competitive tournament fishing back to Savannah, Georgia. As a sanctioned, 'Southern Kingfish Association' event, the Alee Shriners Fishing Classic was the 4th largest saltwater tournament held in the state of Georgia, and the largest out of Savannah with a total of Seventy-four boats. The event paid in excess of $45,000 in cash and prizes among tournament finishers and Calcutta winners.
More importantly than the money won by teams and anglers was the money raised for our great charity. Shriners are always looking for a way to, "have fun and help kids." The inaugural tournament allowed the Alee Dune Cat Unit to present $10,000 for the Shriners Hospitals & Patient Transportation funds, directly benefitting the children that need our help the most. This would have been impossible achievement without the generous donations from our corporate, tournament, and associate sponsors; as well as everyone who participated on each of the 74 teams.
2021 is going to be bigger and better than ever. We are looking to grow our sponsorship relationships, tournament participation, and overall charitable contribution this year, and for the years to come. Please join us in this rewarding experience of making a true difference in the life of a child.
